THE Chief Managing Director of Dalhatu Afraf Specialist Hospital (DASH), Lafia, Nasarawa State, Dr Yakubu Ashuku, has attributed the congestion of its hospital to irrational attitude of the relations of sick patients.
Dr Yakubu who disclosed this on Wednesday when members of the correspondents’ chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Lafia, said some sick patients come to the hospital with 10 relations.
He added that “we have been fighting against this for a very long time, but it seems not to be working as some of the relation of patients still come in their large numbers.”
The Chief Managing Director said the hospital management has been able drastically decongest the hospital by opening an annex for the hospital.
“The hospital has an annex where patients are attended to and I can assure you that we have three doctors that are stationed there and some who report there on daily basis,” he said.
Dr Yakubu disclosed that the hospital has a SERVICOM unit where patient can lodge complaints of bad services for immediate response by the hospital management.
Earlier, the chairman of the Chapel, Suleiman Lawal Abubakar, commended the Chief medical director for the giant strides witness by the hospital in his tenure.
