THE Iyaloja of Ibadanland, Chief (Mrs) Labake Lawal has described the first year in office of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, as one which has reshaped the image and peace of Ibadanland.
Chief Lawal who stated this in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan on Friday, said Oba Adetunji epitomises the trait of a humble and knowledgable traditional ruler in his first year in office.
The one year coronation anniversary of Oba Adetunji started few days ago and the Kabiyesi will confer honourary chieftaincy titles on deserving Nigerians today.
“His Imperial majesty has clearly demonstrated the uncommon grace in administering the unique tradition of Ibadan since he ascended the throne one year ago. This has been evident in the way and manner your majesty has ruled with love which has ensured peace in Ibadan since you ascended the throne of your forefathers.”
The Iyaloja also commended the Olubadan-in-Council for providing the needed support for the Olubadan to excel, enjoining them to continuously work with the kabiyesi so that Ibadan can gain more economic success under his reign.
