A former governor of Ekiti State, Chief Niyi Adebayo, has congratulated Mr Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his victory in Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State, and called on the citizenry to pray for the success of his administration.
Adebayo, who was the governor of Ekiti State from 1999 to 2003 on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), said the victory had again confirmed the APC’s supremacy over other parties in the country.
The APC chieftain said Akeredolu’s victory showed the people’s quest for genuine development and a better future for the people of Ondo State, urging the winner not to disappoint the populace when he comes on board.
“Akeredolu is well-equipped for the job and I call on the good people of Ondo State to continue to support him. I want to advise Mr Akeredolu to hit the ground running by ensuring that his government focuses on the people-oriented policies, programmes and projects that can turnaround Ondo’s economy.
“I also want to congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari, the APC’s campaign team, INEC and security agencies for ensuring free, fair and peaceful poll that had helped in raising the standard of electioneering in the country.”
