As the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State awaits the ruling of the court of Appeal on Thursday, the chairman of the party, Clement Faboyede, on Wednesday expressed optimism that the verdict would favour Eyitayo Jegede and shame detractors.
Faboyede who stated this in Akure during the senatorial meeting of the party, urged the members of the party not to relent in their campaign ahead of the election, saying all the conspiracy against Eyitayo Jegede would not stand.
He said that the party has absolute confidence in the judiciary and that Jegede would be victorious and called on party members across the senatorial district to troop out en masse and collect the permanent voters’ cards to enable them vote for the governorship candidate of the party on November 26.
The meeting was attended by notable chieftains of the party in the central senatorial district area of the state, including former deputy governor of the state Omolade Oluwateru and past and present political office holders.
Faboyede predicted that the people of the state will celebrate Jegede’s victory over the detractors tomorrow saying that they cannot stop a moving train as Jegede would bounce back and would win the coming election.
He called on the over 5,000 party faithful who attended the meeting that some cabals along with some bad eggs in INEC conspired together to shut out Jegede because they knew he would beat others during the election.
