THE Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command, has commenced the training of 350 personnel on intelligence gathering and prosecution to boost its capability in tackling insecurity in the state.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of a three-day workshop in Lafia, on Thursday, the state commandant of the corp, Lawal Bashir Kano, said the workshop became imperative due to the lapses of its men in handling sensitive intelligence issues.
“We took permission from our headquarters to organise this workshop in order to boost the capability of our men whom due to some of their lapses we loss sensitive intelligence cases,” he said.
Lawal disclosed that the 350 participants at the workshop were drawn from its commands across the state.
He expressed optimism that at the end of the workshop more intelligence related cases would be properly handled by men of the command.
