The police in Lagos State had yet to get any clue on the two missing children who were last Friday abducted by their mother’s apprentice as at yesterday.
They also blamed the abduction of the children – four-year-old Farouk and six-year-old Kafayat – on their mother’s carelessness.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmos, while speaking with Metro, stated that the police were still on the trail of the apprentice simply identifed as Grace .
Badmos told Metro that the police had not been helped in the investigation of the abduction of the kids with the way their mother handled the situation.
She however stated that the police in the state would do their best to ensure that the children were rescued and the culprit brought to book.
The Lagos police spokesperson said: “Nothing yet for now, but we will try our best to unravel the case.”
She also added that “the mother actually acted unwisely”, but pointed out that the police would not use that as an excuse not to rescue the missing children.
Farouk and Kafayat were last Friday abducted at Okokomaiko area of the state by the mother’s new apprentice, Grace, who started working with the victims’ mother less than 24 hours before the abduction .
She had reportedly pretended that she wanted to go and buy food but seized the opportunity to abduct the children and had not returned since then.
