FORMER military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, has said Nigeria’s oil and gas industry will continue to flourish.
He stated this when he paid host to the Niger State controller of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Mr Abdullahi Isah Jankara, who paid him a courtesy visit at his Hilltop mansion, in Minna.
According to IBB, “I appreciate the evolution of history of petroleum in the country. I considered it very important during our tenure. We discussed a lot with my Minister of Petroleum Resources, Professor Jibrin Aminu and our vision for the sector is still working and will continue to flourish.”
He commended the efforts being put in place in oil and gas sector by the incument Federal Government and assured the DPR of maximum support and assistance.
Earlier in his remarks, Jankara lauded the machineries put in place by the former military administration of General Babangida.
He said as a visionary leader, he saw to the establishment of two deports in the state, as well as siting of DPR office.
