ONE of the ambassadorial nominees, Mrs Ngozi Ukaeje, has suggested that the country needs to review its foreign policy in order for the country to develop.
She disclosed this on Wednesday, during the screening of the nominees by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs.
The committee, on Wednesday, screened 19 nominees, while promising to conclude the exercise today by screening 13 others.
Ukaeje, representing Imo State, during the screening, said Nigeria had a role to play in the affairs of other African countries.
According to her, “as a developing country, we tend to be playing a big role in Africa, our foreign policy has always been to take care of African countries and with the recent prevailing circumstance, there is the need to review our foreign policy.
“Even with the ongoing agenda of the president to fight corruption, develop our economy and curb insecurity, I will advise the foreign minister to do a memo to the president about the review of the policy.”
