AHEAD of the 2017 edition of the Nigeria Carnival in US happening from July 25 to 31 in Maryland, United States, organisers held an exhibition to showcase the event to intending Nigerian participants last weekend in Lagos.
Held at Freedom Park, Lagos Island, the show featured cultural performances and arts and craft display. It was witnessed by arts patrons, investors and members of the diplomatic corps.
Thomas Akinkuebi, the chief executive officer of US-based TKY Global Investment that organised the event, and who was in Nigeria to witness the exhibition, expressed happiness at how things went.
He said: “It is in our best interest to acquaint Nigerians with the contents and modalities of this tailored event aimed at promoting our rich heritage. Nigeria Carnival in US 2017 is an effective cultural and diplomatic tool which content, design and programmes parade dynamic and unique elements to inform, inspire, integrate, educate and empower. It is equally fashioned to facilitate relationship building and unification of cultures for Nigerians in the Diaspora.”
Akinkuebi, who further disclosed that he would tour some establishments and visit state governments for partnership and support for the carnival, said he was convinced that the Nigeria Carnival in US 2017 would be successful based on what he saw.
