THE organisers of LagosVegFest are set to host the third edition of the healthy lifestyle festival.
The three day festival scheduled for Freedom Park, Lagos, between November 18 and 20 also secured a partnership with Lagos@50, the anniversary celebrations by Lagos State government.
The co-organiser of the event, Mr Hakeem Jimo, while speaking on the importance of healthy feeding and its benefit in a statement made available to Tribune Online stated that Nigerians are becoming aware of how to improve their health and there is need to reach many more.
“There still way to many unhealthy habits that bring burden to our people. At LagosVegFest, people can experience the amazing benefits and great taste of a plant based diet as well as exercise and other healthy products.
“This year, Dr Aris Latham is expected all the way from Panama. Latham is the founder of ‘Sunfired Foods’ and is a famous raw food chef. He will give live cooking demonstrations during the three day festival. More than 25 exhibitors have confirmed their participation showcasing mostly Nigerian Made products and services, almost all of them beng small and medium enterprises.
“This year’s theme of the LagosVegFest is ‘Green Living & Yoga’. Yoga has become a popular way to stay healthy and fit for Nigerians. At the International Yoga Day last year, First Lady, Aisha Buhari, told Nigerians to embrace Yoga to impove their health.
“Over a dozen Nigerian Yoga teachers will offer free classes over the three days showing the variety of this age old practice.
This year’s LagosVegFest will mark the official launch of ‘VegMeat /Vegetarian Chunks’ a retail product that makes healthy cooking available to all Nigerians. VegMeat tastes like beef but is 100 per cent animal-free, easy to cook and to store and more affordable than meat,“ he explained.
