LAGOS State government has confirmed the appointment of Mr Fatai Idowu Onafowote as the General Manager of the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency.
A statement issued on Tuesday by the Head of Public Affairs of the Agency, Mr Safideen Jimoh, said Onafowote’s appointment was confirmed through the Office of the Head Of Service (HoS).
it said Onafowote, who has been the General Manager of the Agency in an acting capacity, was confirmed in recognition of his selfless service, integrity and record of impressive performance throughout the period he acted as the Head of the of the Agency.
The statement further said that the letter from the Office of the Head of Service also noted that Onafowote had meritoriously demonstrated the ability to take the agency to the next level.
While congratulating him on the confirmation of his appointment, the Head of Service also charged him to see the confirmation as a challenge to continue to give his best in the discharge of his responsibility in line with the present administration’s vision for the state.
Meanwhile, the newly confirmed General Manager has expressed profound appreciation to the state governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, for the confidence reposed in him and further promised to continually discharge his duties diligently and in conformity with the vision of the administration.
Onafowote joined the State Public Service as Argic Officer Grade Level 08 on 30th May 1995 and converted to Planning Officer in December 1999.
The newly appointed General Manager has a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from the University of Ibadan and Master’s Degree in Information Science from the same University.
Onafowote, a core professional in Public Procurement is a hardworking and dedicated officer who has been steering the ship of the Public Procurement Agency since June 2016 when he assumed duty as the General Manager in an acting capacity.
