WIFE of Kaduna lawmaker, Hajiya Fatima Ismail, whose husband, Ibrahim Ismail, a member of Kaduna State House of Assembly was kidnapped from his residence Tuesday morning has relocated with her four children, to an undisclosed destination.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the mother of four, witnessed the kidnap of her husband from their residence at No 18A, Abdullahi Road, Abakpa GRA, Kaduna.
One of the lawmaker’s personal aide, Aliyu Mohammed, described the scenario as shocking, as the lawmaker was friendly and wondered why he was kidnapped.
Although he said he was not around when the incident occurred, he said he was told that the his boss was kidnapped by gunmen around 9.00 a.m. that fateful day.
Also speaking in an interview, one of the neighbours of the kidnapped lawmaker, Mohammed Abubakar, disclosed that he witnessed how the lawmaker was kidnapped.
“They came in two vehicles, wearing army camouflage and fired gunshots to disperse the people around before they took him away.
“In fact, it was when the incident happened that I was told he was a lawmaker,” he said.
Briefing newsmen on the progress made by the police to ensure that the lawmaker is free, the police imagemaker, ASP Aliyu Usman, remarked that the police was on top of the situation.
Also speaking, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Alhaji Aminu Shagali, condemned the incident and asked his abductors to release him unconditionally.
