A member of the House of Representatives, representing Ibadan South West/North West Federal Constituency, Oyo State, Honourable Saheed Akinade-Fijabi, last Friday commissioned a project worth N300million at the University Teaching Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.
Fijabi, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Telecommunication, commissioned the five digital classrooms, a project facilitated by him through the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC), to boost the training of medical students across the country.
The classrooms, which have touch screens, can link other teaching hospitals simultaneously.
Speaking at the commissioning, Fijabi said that he facilitated the project as his own way of contributing to the development of UCH.
“UCH is not part of my constituency but I believe this gesture has nothing to do with constituency. I am a native of Ibadan and I will always project anything that has to do with the development of Ibadan in particular and Oyo State and the country in general,” he said.
“Ibadan is synonymous with first positive thing and Oyo State is a pacesetter and I believe we have to lead and others should follow.
“The cost of this project is N300million but my concern is how this project can be useful to the citizenry. Our aim is to improve the wellbeing of the citizenry,” he stated.
