I would like to implore the Federal Government to take concrete steps to improve the economy. This is because Nigerians are passing through harrowing experiences and may begin to die in their thousands if concrete steps are not taken to address their economic plight.
The figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics on the unemployment situation in the country are truly staggering and saddening.
I would suggest that the Federal Government reviews its economic policies in line with the precedence set by its predecessors who arguably managed the economy better.
It should also consider bringing on board people with the requisite skills in the management of the economy even if it means bringing them home from abroad, or from the opposition parties. The time has come to put politics aside and address the plight of millions of Nigerians who are either being owed salaries, unemployed or experiencing poor sales in their businesses occasioned by the downturn in the economy.
