Government Girls Secondary School, Abaji has won the 2016 Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship (SAGE) world cup competition by emerging first position in the Socially Responsible Business Category (SRB) in Manila, Philippines.
They earlier defeated countries like Russia, Iran, South Korea and Philippines to put up an impressive performance and advance to the final rounds.
Speaking on the victory, the Director, FCT Secondary Education Board, Hajia Rakiat Daniya, said that the feat had again brought the FCT and Nigeria as a whole into limelight of global recognition in entrepreneurship.
She noted that the Nigerian contingent had barely two hours upon arrival at Manila to prepare for the preliminary rounds of Socially Responsible Business (SRB) category.
According to her, the 2016 SAGE World cup competition was competed for by 22 countries.
The Director commended the Team Nigeria which she said showcased high technical entrepreneurship skill in the keenly-contested event.
She said, “The FCT School, Government Girl’s Secondary School Abaji as dynamites took 1st position both at the zonal and National levels and also in Gabon among 28 Africa countries put together by non-governmental organisation named junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN) and later in June 2016 as Amazing Amazons SAGE Team won the 2016 National SAGE Entrepreneurship competition which earned them the ticket to represent Nigeria at Manila, Philippines.”
