Minister of Power, Works and Housing, BabatundeFashola and the Swedish Minister of Trade and European Affairs, Mrs. Ann Lind, have held talks in Abuja on investment in infrastructural sector of Nigeria.
During the meeting, Fashola underscored the readiness of the Federal Government in partnering with investors who showed interest in the sector.
He noted that the sector was critical to both social and economic survival of the country and said that Federal Government aimed at partnering with the Swedish Government on programmes that would lead to economic recovery.
According to the minister, building confidence through transparency, good governance and accountability were key factors for any business environment.
Fashola observed that the country had market big enough to accommodate any serious investor and assured that there could never be a better time than now to invest in the country.
He, however, noted that emphasis would be on investments that encouraged local production of goods.
Earlier, the Swedish minister noted that both Sweden and Nigeria were confronted with urbanization problems which she said mounted ecological and social pressure on the countries.
