THE Edo State office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Thursday, said it would commence distribution of permanent voter cards (PVCs) to registered voters ahead the September 10 gubernatorial election in Edo tomorrow.
Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the commission, Mrs Priscillia Sule, who disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin City, on Thursday, said the exercise would be for three days.
Sule said the period for distribution of the PVCs had been fixed for between tomorrow and Monday.
She said the exercise would commence at 8.00 a.m. each day in all registered units and wards across the 18 local government areas of the state.
Sule, therefore, advised eligible registered voters, including those who registered during the last continuous voters’ registration in June, to ensure they collected their cards within the stipulated time.
She noted that no eligible registered voter without a PVC would be allowed to vote during the election.
Sule did not, however, disclose the number of PVCs awaiting collection.
