The National Industrial Court, Abuja, has fixed Feb.27 to hear the suit brought by Mr Daniel Makolo of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) seeking elevation to the rank of Deputy Comptroller-General of Immigration.
The claimant had sued the Head of Service of the Federation over his alleged denial of promotion.
The judge, Justice Edith Agbakoba, fixed the date to enable counsel to the Head of Service, Mr Polycarp Hamman file his processes.
The court will also hear the preliminary objection raised by Hamman as well as the objections by the other respondents.
Makolo, an NIS officer joined the Chairman, Code of Conduct Bureau, Chairman, ICPC, the Minister of Interior, and the Comptroller- General of NIS in the suit.
The aggrieved officer had alleged that the respondents “unjustly” denied him promotion over the years by keeping him in limbo.
The aggrieved officer wants the court to compel his employers to promote him to his alleged deserved rank of Deputy Comptrollers- General (DGG) of Immigration.
The claimant also prayed the court to direct the respondents to issue him a letter of special promotion and decorate him with the rank of Deputy Comptroller- General of Immigration.
