My baby who is three months old has not doubled her birth weight as the doctor promised. Kindly let me know what to do about this. Thanks.

While breast fed babies are expected to double their birth weight between 3 to 4 months of age, this weight gain is not always as smooth as expected. It is therefore very important for you to confirm that your baby is getting the adequate amount of breast milk needed for proper growth. It is also important to confirm that your nipple is adequately positioned for this. Your doctor may also want to run some tests such as Urine and Blood tests on your baby in order to further determine the cause of your baby’s poor weight gain.
