EMINENT dignitaries from all walks of life on Tuesday attended the 30th remembrance and patronal anniversary service of the former Premier of Western region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
Top of the list are some of the political disciples of the sage, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, Chief Ruben Fasoranti, Senator Femi Okunrohunmu, Professor Akin Mabogunje, and others.
Others include the political class include the deputy governor of Oyo State, Chief Moses Adeyemo who represented the governor of Oyo State, wife of Oyo State deputy governor, Chief Florence Ajimobi, former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, wife of the deputy governor of Oyo State, Mrs Janet Adeyemo.
The old class were led by the former governor of Western state, Vice Admiral Akin Aduwo, former governor of old Kwara state, Chief Cornelius Adebayo while Otunba Kunle Ojora with his wife, Ojuolape led the business class.
Other dignitaries at the event are: Pastor Kunle Bakare and his wife, Chief Mrs Abba Folawiyo, Dr Doyin Abiola, Yinka Odumakin, Dr Kunle Olajide, Banji, Dr Doyin Okupe, Chief Oladosu Oladipo, Mrs Bola Doherty, Professor Banji Akitoye, Chief and Mrs Osiberu, Apagun Kole Omololu, Otunba Dipo Oredipe, Bimbo Akintoye Oguntade, among others.
After the church programme, guests were treated to old classical music of legendary Juju icon, Chief Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi at the country home of the Awolowos.
Chief Obey, clad in blue native attire solemnly refreshed the memory of guests with some lines of his famous album “Tribute to Awolowo” 30 years ago.
With music from Ebenezer Obey stand, the Awolowo family treated the guests to sumptuous meal to appreciate them for honouring their invitation in remembrance of the “best President Nigeria never had.”
