A mega partnership deal was struck in the nation’s hospitality industry, early in the year, as two mega brands, in the industry, Avalon Intercontinental Nigeria Limited and Radisson Blu announced a business partnership that saw former Renaissance Hotel Ikeja transform to Radisson Blu.
While Avalon is reputed as an international independent hotel group, Radisson Blu remains a global hotel chain, within the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.
Disclosing the partnership deal in Lagos, the Director, Legal, Avalon intercontinental Nigeria ltd, Olaitan Tajudeen, explained that the deal was arrived at, after the Avalon Group had reached a mutual agreement with its former partners, the Renaissance Hotel Group, to part ways.
She described the development as a demonstration of the company’s commitment to continually serve its esteemed clientele, with best global standards, which Radisson Blu represents.
Olaitan, stated that the former Renaissance Hotel, now Radisson Blu Hotel Lagos Ikeja, would now form part of the Avalon Hotel Collection, owners of Protea Hotel Ikeja, Protea Hotel Victoria Island and Avalon Hotel, Offa, Kwara State.
Expressing his Group’s delight at the deal, the General Manager, Radisson Blu Hotel,Lagos Ikeja, George Balassis, expressed the Group’s commitment to delight its travel savvy, modern guests with a genuine, inviting ambience, in tune with the Radisson Blu’s culture.
He however allays fears of retrenchment within the hotel’s workforce, adding that the new management would only ensure that the workforce is re-trained to be enable it effectively translate the Radisson Blu culture.
