The embattled administrator of Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Alhaji Taufiq Isa, has expressed confidence in the judiciary over the assassination case brought against him before the court, warning against crisis over the development.
Besides, the Kogi State Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), said he had forgiven those that framed him up in the assassination saga.
Speaking during a reception to welcome him back to his community, Odokoro-Gbede, Ijumu Local Government Area of the state, after being granted bail by a Kogi State High Court, Isa said his experience would not deter him from serving the people.
The council chairman was arrested and last Monday arraigned alongside four others over the alleged attempted assassination of the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye.
However, Justice Arome Akogwu, of the Kogi High Court, granted them bail, saying the accused persons had spent three weeks in police custody as against the time prescribed by the constitution.
Isa, however, warned his supporters in the council against using his recent detention in police custody and his arraignment in court to foment crisis, saying since the case was before a competent court, it should be allowed to adjudicate on it.
The council chairman said no aggrieved person should pre-empt the court judgement or hide under the case to cause crisis in Okun land.
