THE All Progressives Congress (APC) will, today [Thursday], hold a mini-convention to elect a new National Publicity Secretary.
It will be recalled that the post became vacant more than a year ago when the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, resigned following his appointment as a minister.
Attempts by the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Timi Frank, to assume the post in acting capacity were rebuffed by the National Working Committee based on the zoning arrangement for the positions.
It was, however, gathered that the leadership of the APC had concluded the plans to elect another spokesman from the North Central zone, with Kwara State emerging the preferred state.
Sources said that the former Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi, is set to emerge the new spokesman of the APC at a mini-convention slated to hold at the New Chelsea Hotel, Abuja at 11 a.m.
It was also confirmed that delegates from only the six states of North Central are expected at the convention, while the Senate President, members of the National Working Committee as well as governors from the states are billed to attend the convention.
