THE Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Dawud Akinola, has described education as the best thing that could be handed down to posterity.
He, therefore, urged all parents to give the education of their children priority treatment.
Alhaji Akinola made the remark last weekend, in Ibadan, Oyo State, during his visitation to the annual Youth Dawah Camp of the Al-Fatih-Ul-Quareeb Society of Nigeria.
He underlined the need for Muslim parents to also ensure that their young gain adequate knowledge of Islam as a way of guaranteeing a generation of future leaders that would fear God and treat the people right.
Alhaji Akinola, who made the visitation in company with members of the Aare Musulumi-in-Council, expressed delight at the initiative of the Quareeb family to organise the camping programme for youths, saying this would go a long way in guiding the young people to the straight path.
Meanwhile, the Muslim leader urged Nigerians to change their ways so that Allah would not foist on them, wicked leaders but only grant them peace and comfort.
The National President of the organisation, Alhaji Abdul-Lateef Ikotun, expressed gratitude to Alhaji Akinola for identifying with the Quareeb family and then requested for his assistance as regards some ongoing projects of the organisation.
