Over 50, 000 participants have joined the on-going midnight praise challenge tagged, “The One-Hour Midnight Hallelujah Challenge.”
Organised by famous gospel artiste and Book of Life singer, Natheniel Bassey, the challenge is a one-hour praise and worship session that takes place on Instagram Live between 12 noon and 1 am every day.
It began on June 1 and is expected to last for thirty days.
The Imela music virtuoso had on the May 31 shared his intention to host a multi-denominational one-hour praise and worship live session on Instagram
Speaking about the initiative to an online source, Nathaniel said that the ‘Hallelujah Challenge,’ is a 30-day midnight praise, set to lift the name of God and bring glory and salvation upon his people, as they exalt His holy name.”
“This Hallelujah Challenge is inspired by the biblical story of Paul and Silas who got freedom from prison after they engaged in praise and worship to God,” he added.
Recently, the News Agency of Nigeria reported that the hashtag #HallelujahChallenge is trending on Twitter with 7,826 tweets as at the time of filing this report.
Celebrities including Funke Akindele-Bello, Omoni Oboli, Don Jazzy, Kcee, Tiwa Savage, Rita Dominic and Adesua Etomi are also sharing the #hallelujahchallenge on their instagram pages.
Wednesday session grossed over 67,000 participants. The programmed has also encountered some criticisms from blocs who do not see its relevance.
